Trading Stock
Trading stock will typically occur at a stock exchange, which serves as a physically market place for trading stock, shares and other financial securities. Trading stock at the stock exchange will usually be carried out by stock brokers, who are acting on behalf of their client, the investor.
In recent years the act of trading stock is becoming increasingly automated as significant developments in information and communications technologies have been made. The traditional stock exchanges are now quite different to how they once were and although they are the principle places where trading stock takes place the methods and technologies that are now made use of when trading stock are quite different.
Trading stock can be an exasperating experience and stock brokers need a great deal of skill and experience in order to be successful. The fluctuations of stock prices can cause trading stock to quite erratic. Because of the stressful and unpredictable nature of trading stock, stock exchanges are often portrayed in the mainstream media as being especially chaotic and unorganised.
There are a number of stock exchanges all over the world where trading stock takes place. They are typically located in major cities and some of the most famous examples of stock exchanges include the New York Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, which is one of the largest in the world.
