Stock Brokers

Many people would like to pursue a career as stock brokers. However, it is a difficult career to get into and having the right force of personality is often considered to be just as important as having the right qualifications amongst stock brokers.

The main role of stock brokers is to buy or sell securities such as shares on the behalf of an investor. Stock brokers will typically be able to provide their clients with three distinct services. The most basic service available from stock brokers is an execution only service, where the stock brokers simply carry out the actions that are requested of them by their clients. Stock brokers can also offer their clients an advisory service, where they will act as a financial advisor and advise their client on the securities they should be or sell. Some stock brokers will also offer a third service where the stock broker will execute all the clients deals at their own discretion after assessing the needs and requirements of their clients. This is the most comprehensive service offered by stock brokers, although most people would rather have a level of control of their own stocks and shares rather than entrust their control entirely to a stock broker.

Many modern stock brokers will have very little, if any, face to face or personal contact with their clients due to the prevalence of automated stock broking systems based online.
